Shareholders Recognized in Three States

Wulfekuhles-3_croppedPork industry organizations in Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota honored the following Pipestone Management shareholders in January at separate events.

The Iowa Pork Producers Association gave the title of “Master Pork Producer” to Craig and Karen Wulfekuhle of Earlville, IA at the 41st annual Iowa Pork Congress Banquet in Des Moines. Ceremonies included a brief multi-media presentation of the Wulfekuhle hog operation.

Nominated by their neighbors and peers, Iowa Master Pork Producers are recognized for their innovation, attention to quality, efficiency, and production records within their farm enterprise. They are considered industry leaders who are committed to producing the highest quality pork products. Their operations are environmentally sound, they care about the livestock, are good neighbors, and active in their communities.

The Chris and Clare Veldhuizen family of Edgerton, MN were honored at the 2013 Minnesota Pork Congress in Minneapolis as its “Family of the Year.”

The Minnesota Pork Board’s Family of the Year annually honors a pork producing family who has contributed to the long-term success of the industry through leadership and pork promotion at the local and state levels. A minimum of 20 years of involvement in the pork industry is required.

The 2013 South Dakota Master Pork Producers were announced at the 44th Annual South Dakota Pork Congress banquet held in Sioux Falls, SD. The first of five winners introduced that night were Ryan and Amy Storm from Mt. Vernon, SD. The second of five winners introduced that night were Matt and Jared Storm from Ethan, SD. Matt and Jared are brothers, Ryan is their cousin.

The South Dakota Master Pork Producers organization is comprised of allied industry members with the goals of recognizing outstanding pork producers and promoting pork production in South Dakota. Candidates are judged on performance records, management level, and industry activities, rather than the size or type of operation.
