Our Family Scholarship
The “Our Family Scholarship” awards 5 college student recipients $2,500. This scholarship is open to PIPESTONE team memvers and immediate family members of PIPESTONE team members. The applicants have to be attending college pursuing an agriculture degree or related field of study. Applicants have to submit a video explaining how the PIPESTONE core values are portrayed in their lives as well as how they would pay it back someday. All PIPESTONE team members vote on who they think best received the scholarship.

Our Growth Scholarship
To help promote continual learning, “Our Growth” scholarship is open to full time or part time PIPESTONE employees who are also attending college.

Craig Breja

“Currently I work at Southwest Pork as the GDU Lead while also completing my BS in Animal Science at Kansas State University. After graduating, I will be pursuing a MS in Monogastric Nutrition. I have been involved in the swine industry all my life and I’ve managed to turn my passion into a growing career. When I’m not working, I enjoy podcasts and taking time to examine scholarly articles concerning pork production in order to become a more well-rounded stockman.”

“I am honored to be a recipient of the Our Growth scholarship here at PIPESTONE. My courses at Texas Tech allow me to focus and strengthen my expertise in my work. Continuing my education in a master’s program is a life-long goal of mine and I am grateful for PIPESTONE’s support through the process.”

The 2021 Recipients

MorriSTONE Scholarship in Honor of Dr. Bob Morrison

Allison Bronk

Allison is a senior majoring in Animal Science: Pre-veterinary medicine and minoring in Animal Health and Chemistry. She is applying for vet schools this year in hopes of being accepted for the 2022-2023 school year. She plans to someday open her own mixed practice veterinary clinic. During her time in college, Allison works as a community assistant (CA) on campus and also works for White Veterinary Services. When Allison is not studying or working she enjoys volunteering at eh Brookings Regional Humane Society and has taken part in the Pre-Veterinary Club and Navigators throughout her time at SDSU.

Logan Tesch

Logan is a senior from Henderson, MN double majoring in Animal Science and Ag Business. After college, he wants to get experience in the agriculture industry with cattle or hogs in hopes of returning to his family operation long-term.

Sydnee Hubner

 

Sydnee Hubner is double majoring in Agriculture Education and Agriculture Engineering at South Dakota State University. Originally from Pipestone, Sydnee served FFA officer positions for Region VI, Pipestone Area FFA and the Pipestone Junior High FFA Chapters. She has volunteered at many local events and community projects, as well as been an active member of the Vet Science, Floriculture and Parliamentary Procedure CDE teams. Outside of FFA, Hubner was active in gymnastics, tennis, National Honor Society and 4-H during high school.
