Congratulations to Hannah Walkes for being with PI

Congratulations to Hannah Walkes for being with PIPESTONE for 15 years!

Hannah and her husband Dominic live in Brandon, SD, with their three kids—Caden, Logan and Briggs. They enjoy their sporting events, time on the water, and cheering on the SDSU Jackrabbits every chance they get.

1. What is your current role, and what do you enjoy most about it? I currently serve as President of Pipestone Veterinary Services and on the Pipestone Board of Directors.

2. What do you enjoy most about working for PIPESTONE? Definitely the farmer-first mentality. Being surrounded by a team that gets up every day to crush it for the independent family farm is hard to describe, but awesomely unique and extremely contagious. With that as our North, we have the flexibility to try new things as needs change. It creates a lot of opportunities for anyone wanting to grow.

3. How has PIPESTONE changed since you started? We’ve grown geographically in size and scale, headcount, and offerings. We’ve also transitioned businesses and offerings that didn’t quite fit anymore. We’ve grown from a regional mixed animal veterinary practice to a global agribusiness company. We’ve changed in so many ways, yet stayed true to our roots. Our goal to Help Farms has never been clearer and continues to the center of gravity.

Congratuions to Linda Oliphant on her 15 year work

Congratuions to Linda Oliphant on her 15 year work anniversary! When not busy at work caring for the animals, Linda enjoys family vacations with grandkids, fishing, horseback riding, and quilting. She has 11 grandchildren and looks forward to retirement and enjoying them more.

1. What is your current role, and what do you enjoy most about it? I currently am a front end specialist. I have always enjoyed working with the sows and babies. I find it to be very rewarding.

2. What do you enjoy most about working for PIPESTONE? Working with the animals, the benefits are top notch and the people.

3. How has PIPESTONE changed since you have started? It was a much smaller company then. It has been amazing seeing the growth of the company. They have tried to keep employees best interests in mind everyday.

Jeff Kinney recently celebrated his 20 year work anniversary at PIPESTONE. Jeff enjoys history, board games ( the more difficult the better), St Louis Cardinals baseball, Iowa State athletics, and being with his kids and grandchildren.

1. What is your current role, and what do you enjoy most about it? Production Supervisor, getting to work with different farms and staffs.

2. What do you enjoy most about working for PIPESTONE? Working with great people from all over the world!

3. How has PIPESTONE changed since you have started? There just isn’t much that hasn’t changed. For me PIPESTONE has always been a very supportive team of people ready to help.

Jim Wolf recently reached his milestone of 20 year

Jim Wolf recently reached his milestone of 20 years of service with PIPESTONE. Jim is currently the barn manager at Salem 1. In his free time, Jim enjoys camping, hunting, wood working, building things, spending time with family, and working on the family farm.

1. What is your current role at PIPESTONE? Barn Manager, I enjoy see my employees gain knowledge and confidence everyday.

2. What do you enjoy most about working for PIPESTONE? It is a company always looking to be the best in the business.

3. How has PIPESTONE changed since you started? In my 20 years the growth in sow numbers and employees has been crazy.

In January, Morgan Hill Farms donated $750 to Shop

In January, Morgan Hill Farms donated $750 to Shop with a Cop. With their donation, they were able to purchase two bicycles and 50 helmets for the kids of Winamac, Indiana for their annual Bicycle Rodeo!

PIPESTONE team member, Jenna Meurer attended the Illinois Section 6 FFA Banquet on behalf of the Pipestone Cares program. Our local sow farms (Precision, Independence, Elite, and Future) used some of of their Pipestone Cares funds to donate back to Section 6 FFA as well as several of the individual chapters. These donations helped Section 6 pay for meals at events throughout the 2021-2022 school year. Section 6 has been the Section that a majority of these shareholders were apart of as well as their younger generations. Jenna is pictured with the 2021-2022 Section 6 officer team.

PIPESTONE cares about those in our communities and aims to support those who go above and beyond for helping people. We recently gave a monetary donation to ATLAS for Life. (Attaining Truth, Love, And Self Control)

At ATLAS, they care about YOU and want to help! ATLAS is a non-profit organization that offers FREE mentoring sessions for people experiencing many of life's difficulties. They help you utilize local resources, agencies, and counseling. They will walk alongside you as you determine how to embrace a rewarding journey of life.

The Miller School District in Miller, SD, recently had a fire in their agriculture shop class. To help the school, Nordic Farms donated new school supplies.

The team at Pipestone Veterinary Services of Orang

The team at Pipestone Veterinary Services of Orange City worked together and did a fundraiser for the Lutheran Social Services.

The heart of their idea was to give each child coming into foster care something of their own that they can take with them when they leave. Children will often have to change schools and leave behind their backpacks and school supplies.

The team put together an Amazon wish list that team members could purchase from, as well as raised additional funds through their penny challenge. When they presented their donation, the team also went above and beyond and volunteered at the Foster Care Supply Closet in Cherokee, IA.

Congratulations to Dr. Scott Dee for being the rec

Congratulations to Dr. Scott Dee for being the recipient of the 2022 Pork industry Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to swine health.

Dr. Dee is passionate about helping farmers through applied on-farm research. Dee has had nearly 170 papers published in peer-reviewed journals covering transmission and biosecurity implications of PRRS, African swine fever (ASF), and other severe animal health risks.
