Pipestone Veterinary Services of Independence is excited to be adding a new veterinarian to their team. Dr. Cara Haden grew up on swine farm in Holland, Michigan and was very involved in her family’s operation from a young age. “Growing up in the swine industry, I knew I wanted to remain involved as I furthered my career. I also grew up with an appreciation for human medicine with my mom being an RN. Veterinary Medicine seemed to be a good combination of the two,” states Dr. Haden. After interning at a veterinary practice for a summer, Dr. Haden knew it was the profession for her.
Dr. Haden is extremely excited to join Pipestone Veterinary Services, and will be specializing in swine production.
“I have always been impressed with the swine Veterinarians at Pipestone. They are leaders in the industry, and are always pushing the industry forward. I wanted to be part of a clinic that practiced high quality, research based medicine. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with such a well respected group.”
Dr. Cara Haden received her Bachelor’s in Animal Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. She has helped with research studies on various topics from the economic impact of PRRS, Swine Influenza, as well as Vitamin D and metabolic bone disease.
