Pipestone and their employees are always excited to give back to the communities we live and work in. Here are a few highlights from May:
Free Throws for Kids
Pipestone held their 2nd annual Free Throws for Kids event. The free throw competition between Pipestone departments is a fun way to help raise money for a great cause. For every free throw made, Pipestone Holdings donates to Children’s Home Society (CHS) in Sioux Falls, SD – this year making a $35,000 donation. While serving victims of domestic violence and child abuse, it is also part of the CHS mission to partner with caring parents to help children with emotional or behavioral problems. Pipestone Co. Food Shelf
We’re grateful to have a food shelf to help provide for food insecure families in our community. March 31st, six Pipestone employees took the afternoon to volunteer at the Pipestone Co. Food Shelf. They kept busy all afternoon helping almost 40 families through the store. The food shelf is open every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information visit www.pipestonefoodshelf.com.
FFA
Pipestone is a big supporter of FFA, at a state and local level. For the kids, the lessons they will learn while participating in FFA are invaluable – whether they pursue a career in agriculture or not. Pipestone is a Star Partner with MN FFA, and also provided a check for $6,400 to the Pipestone FFA chapter to help them with upcoming projects including their community garden and some facility and equipment upgrades at the fairgrounds.
