Matias was born in Rancagua, Chile. Growing up close to his grandmother’s livestock farm generated his passion for animal production.

Matias graduated from Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh) in Valdivia in 2012 obtaining his degree in Veterinary Medicine.

He joined the health department of AGROSUPER in 2014. Along with his veterinarian responsibilities, Matias developed technological solutions for health and biosecurity. Later, he was promoted to the production department supervising 15,500 sows. In January 2022, Matias joined PIPESTONE as the Technical Service Director for Latin America. He moved to Hermosillo, Mexico with his wife Macarena and his daughter Emilia. Matias enjoys cooking, traveling, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.
